I’d suggest exploring more utility ninjas in Rogue tribal if this interests you.Īnowon provides a pretty good source of card draw, but we can’t always be reliant on him sticking around for multiple turns. ] and ] are both excellent here, playing into both our evasive creature and our theft themes. I also included some ninja payoffs for all our evasive creatures. I cut a few of the reanimation spells and replaced them with cards that can steal a wider variety of cards, like ], ], ], and ]. The original decklist had a strong focus on reanimation spells that could take from our opponents’ graveyard, but a lot of these end up being overcosted and unflexible.
], ], and ] make every player discard their hand and draw a new set, which can disrupt our opponents plans and give us cards to grab back later. Since most of our mill payoff cards don’t care how the cards were put in the graveyard, I opted for a few different routes. We have a lot of evasive Rogues we can use to grab back Monarch if we lose it, and giving all our creatures unblockable will let us close out the game quickly. ] and ] are both excellent Prowl cards that offer further utility. First, I opted to include some Rogues that were left out of the original list. It’s a really efficient and cutthroat deck that should be a lot of fun to pilot straight out the box.įor upgrading the deck, I wanted to focus on all three of those Rogue themes I mentioned earlier, and build them out in a way that increases the power level and consistency of the deck. Along the way, we have the old-school Rogue mechanic of Prowl further giving us benefits for connecting, as well as some cards that will steal cards from your opponent’s graveyard for our own use. Sneak Attack is focused on playing rogues, swinging in with them, milling your opponent, and drawing cards based on your mill. Anowon is a perfect commander for Rogue tribal because he manages to bring all these different themes together under one tent. With the addition of these two new sets, Rogues also have an interest in milling your opponents. Before Core 2021 and Zendikar Rising, Rogues as a tribe were basically evasive creatures that draw a card when they connect. Those decks might indeed be cheaper than their more competitive counterparts, but they are in no way budget. It comes down to the fact that I was tired of seeing people posting their "budget" decks on other subs or on other forums only to find out they were actually $100, $200, or even $300+.
Commander anowon upgrade#
However they likely will be easy to upgrade if you do wish to spend a little extra money. Decks here probably won't be anything close to top tier, as they are only $50 or $25. The goal of this sub is to provide players with actually budget edh decks that they can use for casual games.
